London Calling

London Calling is about the murky line between right and wrong and how hard it is to know what the right thing to do is. It’s tribute to a city in which anything is possible and the challenges are many. Especially for a 14-year-old Hamlet understudy on the loose with a 6-million-dollar crown being chased by four renowned criminals and half the London Police Force. 

Sam, Svetlana, Belle, Oliver, Cameron and Daphne make their way to London with their bumbly but loveable English teacher, Mr. Keen to perform at the National Youth Shakespeare Competition at no other than the Globe Theater. The pressure is on, the stakes are high. Hardly off the bus however, they get wrapped up in the heist of a century. Now the real Hamlet has a broken leg, Laertes has stage-fright and Ophelia think she is Queen. Mr. Keen says, the show must go on and that’s exactly what the kids are trying to do… but at which price. Friendships will be tested, conflicts ignite, there is drama aplenty…on and off stage. 

All our young heroes want is their five minutes of fame and could blame them? 

This fun fast-paced show brings with it an unassuming depth created by its six very authentic and recognisable teenage characters. London Calling is about how everyone needs their moment in the spotlight. We all want to shine and sometimes we need some help to get there.
