Sometimes everyone needs a TIME OUT!
Our dynamic new production for grades 5 and 6 combines live music and physical theater to draw our young audiences into a recognisable and heartfelt story. Three sixth-graders are doing their best to figure out the rules of this game called life. It's not easy navigating all the hurdles on the track. Schoolwork, parental expectations, friendships. Everything is changing.
Sofie, Dee and Benny are all part of the same sports team. The Dolphins. Dee is new on the team and really good, like really really good. She poses a big challenge for the otherwise mild mannered team captain Sofie. Sofie just wants to play basketball, so why does everything have to be so complicated?
Benny is the team's number one bench-sitter. Enthusiastic about every game, great in training and quick with the snacks. But something about actually having to play against another team is just too much for him. To make matters worse Dee has rattled Sofie and Benny's long time friendship to the core. When Sofie gets an F in Maths she knows her mum will take her off the team. To top it all off the first game is against the riegning champions: The Tigers. Will they win, will they lose? Does it really matter? How will they ever get through the season let alone the next game if they can't even train together anymore?
These three characters are learning that sometimes you need to call a time-out, reconnect with your team and change your tactic before you can conquer the field.
The show is designed specifically for sports halls and shows are now bookable through our website.
We would love to see you at the premiere with your friends and colleagues. Opening nights are rare and special occasions on which we all get to enjoy a show and each others company. As well as celebrating our collective contribution to (cultural) education of young people in Berlin and Brandenburg!
Reserve your free ticket for the premiere via bestellung@platypus-theater.de. See you there!
