Rebecca was raised in Sydney Australia and studied as an actress in Sydney (Actors Centre), New York (Lee Strasberg Institute) and London (RADA) before coming to Berlin to study theatre directing in 2015. In Sydney Rebecca completed directing internships at the Ensemble Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, Sport for Jove and the John Bell Shakespeare Company. In Berlin she was granted directing internships working with Katie Mitchell at the Schaubühne Berlin and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, and with Barrie Kosky at the Komische Oper. She has also worked as an assistant director to Kim Hardwick of White Box Theatre Sydney, Erman Jones of the Berlin English Repertory Theatre and Glen Sheppard in Berlin. In April she directed, her first piece in Berlin, a production of Chekhov’s short play ‘The Proposal’ at Studio 800a. Her next project is Stindbergs' 'The Stronger' with Berlin based theatre collective Monstress Mess, of which she is a founder.
We are an independent Berlin-based theater group, which develops and produces English-language or bilingual plays for children and teenagers. We explore themes which interest us and which tie in with the experiences of our audience.
